06.1.58

Fendt 06.1.58 – A039 - MFA (Multifunction Armrest): A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest. Speed preselection button 1000 has been pressed for more than 30 seconds, mechanical or electrical fault in button.

Issue description

The system detects that the 1000 RPM PTO speed preselection button on the multifunction armrest has been continuously engaged for over 30 seconds. This usually indicates that the button is physically jammed, stuck due to debris, or has an internal electrical short. Consequences: No PTO speed preselection is possible while this fault is active.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the '1000' speed preselection button on the armrest to see if it is physically stuck, depressed, or jammed by dirt, dust, or sticky residue.

  2. Access the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu (FENDIAS / Vario Diagnostics) to monitor the live status of the button and verify if the ECU is constantly receiving a 'pressed' signal.

  3. Check the 8.5V supply to the armrest and verify the microfuses on the A013 PCB (specifically fuses F040 and F041), as voltage irregularities can cause erratic button signals.

  4. Inspect the main wiring harness and plug connections at the base of the A039 armrest for pinched wires or corrosion.

Repair steps

  1. Clean the Button

Use electrical contact cleaner and compressed air around the edges of the 1000 RPM preselection button to dislodge any debris holding the button down.

  2. Cycle the Switch

Gently tap or massage the button to see if the mechanical spring/membrane releases. If the fault clears, the issue was purely mechanical binding.

  3. Disassemble the Armrest Console

If the button remains stuck electrically, power down the tractor, disconnect the battery, and carefully remove the top cover of the A039 multifunction armrest to access the switch membrane/circuit board.

  4. Replace the Switch/Module

Depending on the exact armrest generation, the button may be part of a replaceable actuating switch kit or integrated into the larger comfort module board. Replace the faulty switch component.

  5. Recalibrate/Clear Codes

Reassemble the armrest, power on the tractor, and use the terminal to clear the stored 06.1.58 fault code. Test the PTO speed preselection to ensure normal operation.
