Fendt 06.1.60 – REAR PTO ENHANCED CONTROL: Speed mismatch between the engine and the PTO

The actual speed of the rear PTO stub shaft (monitored by Hall sensor B020 and corrected by the transmission rate) differs by more than ±12% from the engine speed setpoint (monitored by Hall sensor B010).

   Perform Emergency Mode Test: Check if electric speed selection remains possible by pressing and holding the 'PTO clutch ON/OFF' (or 'Engage PTO') key in the cab for more than 5 seconds. If it engages, the issue is likely a sensor signal fault.

   Check the 12V power supply to both the B010 (Engine speed) and B020 (PTO stub speed) Hall sensors.

   Verify the integrity of the fuses associated with the PTO and transmission control (e.g., A013 fuse 35).

   Inspect the PTO speed selection solenoid valves (Y026, Y027, Y028) for wiring issues, being stuck in the 'OFF' position, or mechanical seizure.

   Check the mechanical speed selector for physical faults or binding that would prevent the PTO from reaching the commanded speed.

   Inspect Wiring Harnesses

   Locate the B010 engine speed sensor and the B020 rear PTO stub speed sensor. Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors for damage, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Test Sensor Output

   Using a multimeter or oscilloscope, verify that both Hall sensors are outputting a plausible square-wave speed signal when the tractor is running. If either sensor is dead or sending erratic signals, replace the faulty sensor.

   Inspect and Test Solenoids

   Locate the Y026, Y027, and Y028 solenoid valves on the PTO clutch/transmission block. Test them for proper electrical continuity.

   Clean/Replace Seized Solenoids

   If the solenoids are receiving the correct voltage but the corresponding PTO speed cannot be engaged, the valve is likely seized. Remove, clean, and bench-test the solenoid valves. Replace any that are stuck.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   After replacing the faulty sensor or solenoid, use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the 06.1.60 fault code. Run the tractor and engage the PTO under load to ensure the stub speed stays within the 12% tolerance of the engine speed setpoint.
