Fendt 06.1.E1 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control (or A050 - ECU, basic control unit): Checksum error, PTO parameterisation
Issue description
The control unit has detected corrupted, missing, or invalid configuration data (EEPROM checksum mismatch) regarding the Power Take-Off (PTO) system. The tractor's system will ignore the corrupted data and automatically use default safety values for the PTO.
Applies to these machines
10 machines- 309 Vario COM III
- 310 Vario COM III
- 311 Vario COM III
- 312 Vario COM III
- Fendt 200 V/F/P Vario series
- Fendt 300 Vario series
- Fendt 400 Vario series (COM III)
- Fendt 700 Vario series (COM III)
- Fendt 800 Vario series (COM III)
- Fendt 900 Vario series (COM III)
Check the cause
Verify the active fault code 06.1.E1 on the tractor's terminal/instrument cluster.
Check the front and rear PTO operation to see if they are operating on restricted default values.
Verify the power supply and ground connections to the A002/A050 ECU, including checking the microfuses on the A013 printed circuit board (PCB).
Attempt to clear the fault code using the terminal buttons (pressing both arrow keys simultaneously in the fault menu) to see if it is a hard fault or a temporary glitch.
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic tool
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic software interface to the tractor's diagnostic port.
Establish communication
Establish communication with the A002 (or A050) ECU.
Perform EOL programming
Perform EOL (End-Of-Line) programming. This procedure will re-flash the ECU and reload the correct PTO parameterization data record.
Cycle power
Once the EOL programming is complete, cycle the tractor's key power.
Re-check fault memory
Re-check the fault memory to ensure 06.1.E1 has been successfully cleared and does not return.
Test PTO operation
Test the PTO engagement and operation to confirm it is no longer relying on default values.
Replace ECU if necessary
If the EOL programming fails, or if the ECU immediately drops the parameterization data again (indicating a failed internal EEPROM), the A002/A050 ECU must be physically replaced and then programmed.
Parts you might need
(1)A002 - ECU, enhanced control (or A050 - ECU, basic control unit)
If replacing the ECU, the new module will come blank or with base software and must be flash-programmed (EOL programming) via FENDIAS to match the specific tractor's equipment profile (Variotronic, PTO options, etc.) before it will function.
