Fendt 06.1.E1 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Checksum error, PTO parameterisation
Issue description
The control unit has detected corrupted or invalid data regarding the Power Take-Off (PTO) parameters stored in its memory, causing the tractor to revert to using default values for the PTO or enter a restricted emergency mode.
Applies to these machines
12 machines- 922 Vario COM III
- 924 Vario COM III
- 927 Vario COM III
- 930 Vario COM III
- 933 Vario COM III
- 936 Vario COM III

Check the cause
Verify the fault by calling up the fault code on the tractor's multiple display to confirm 06.1.E1 is active.
Attempt to clear the code using FENDIAS diagnostic software (note: cannot be deleted manually via dashboard).
Scan for other A050 communication or memory faults (e.g., 06.1.E2 through 06.1.E5, or CAN bus faults) to determine if the issue is isolated to the PTO parameters or if the entire ECU memory is failing.
Test PTO functionality to observe if it operates in a restricted state using default values.
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic software
Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software via the diagnostic port.
Perform EOL programming
Perform an EOL (End-Of-Line) programming procedure on the A050 Basic Control Unit to rewrite the correct PTO parameters and clear the corrupted memory checksum.
Clear codes and cycle key
Once EOL programming is complete, clear the fault codes and cycle the tractor's key.
Test PTO engagement
Test the front and rear PTO engagement to ensure normal operation has resumed.
Replace A050 ECU
If the FENDIAS software cannot successfully complete the EOL programming, or if the checksum error immediately returns, the A050 Basic Control Unit has likely suffered an internal EEPROM/memory failure and must be removed, replaced with a new or professionally remanufactured unit, and subsequently EOL programmed and calibrated to the specific tractor.
