Fendt 06.1.E3 – A050 - ECU, Basic Control Unit: A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Checksum error, for PW of PTO

The basic control unit has detected a memory checksum error specifically related to the Pulse Width (PW) parameters of the Power Take-Off (PTO). The software parameters governing the electrical current/pulse width modulation for the PTO clutch engagement have become corrupted or are reading incorrectly. The tractor's system will ignore the corrupted parameters and automatically revert to 'Use default values' to maintain basic functionality.

   Verify Default Operation: Check if the PTO still engages. The system is designed to use default values when this code is active. If the PTO does not function at all, there may be a secondary hardware failure (such as a faulty solenoid or wiring issue) rather than just a software checksum error.

   Check Power and Ground to the ECU: Verify the power supply to the A050 ECU at separation point X169 (Check +UB pin 3 and ground) for voltage spikes or drops.

   Attempt a Code Clear: Note that fault codes stored in the A050 ECU cannot be deleted via the standard dashboard terminal combination; they can only be cleared using the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the tractor to the official FENDIAS diagnostic system.

   Perform EOL Programming

   Re-flash or re-parameterize the A050 Basic Control Unit with the correct factory software data for the PTO.

   Test Operation

   Once EOL programming is complete, clear the fault codes and test the PTO engagement to ensure the pulse width parameters are reading correctly.

   ECU Repair/Replacement (If EOL Fails)

   If the ECU refuses to accept the EOL programming, the internal EEPROM/memory chip is likely physically damaged. The A050 module must be removed and either sent to an agricultural electronics specialist for board-level repair or replaced entirely.
