06.1.E7

Fendt 06.1.E7 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Checksum error for temperature limits and switching times of the rear PTO

Issue description

The control unit has detected corrupted or missing calibration data (a checksum mismatch) in its memory specifically relating to the operating parameters, temperature limits, and engagement/switching times for the rear PTO. The system will automatically revert to using default values to allow the tractor to continue operating in a safe, restricted mode.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III) / Farmer 400
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III) / Favorit 700
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III) / Favorit 900

Check the cause

  1. Verify rear PTO operation to see if it still engages, noting any harsh engagement or lack of temperature safety monitoring.

  2. Test battery load and inspect the wiring harness and ground connections to the A050 ECU, as low voltage or spikes can cause memory corruption.

  3. Scan for accompanying checksum-related codes (such as 06.1.E8) in the A050 module to determine if memory corruption is isolated or widespread.

Repair steps

  1. Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic system.

  2. Establish communication with the A050 Basic Control Unit.

  3. Perform EOL (End-Of-Line) programming on the A050 ECU.

This procedure rewrites the factory calibration data, temperature limits, and switching times back into the module's memory.

  4. Cycle the ignition key.

    Key reset: OFF/ON.

  5. Clear the stored fault codes.

  6. Test the rear PTO engagement.

Ensure the code does not return.

  7. Repair or replace the A050 ECU if necessary.

If the EOL programming fails, or if the fault code returns immediately after a battery cycle, the internal EEPROM/Flash memory of the A050 ECU has physically failed. The unit must be removed and either sent out for board-level repair or replaced entirely.
