07.1.E3

Fendt 07.1.E3 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Checksum error, PW of front PTO

Issue description

A software checksum error within the basic control unit regarding the pulse width (PW) parameters for the front Power Take-Off (PTO). The system cannot verify the programmed parameters and automatically reverts to using default values as a safety consequence.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Verify front PTO operation to see if it engages and operates on default safe base values.

  2. Check for accompanying A050 memory faults (such as EEPROM read/write errors or RAM tests) which may indicate physical memory failure.

  3. Verify CAN communication and ensure there are no underlying voltage drops or CAN bus errors to the A050 ECU.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the AGCO 2x4 CANUSB Diagnostic Tool to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Launch software

    Launch the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  3. Establish communication

Establish communication with the A050 - ECU, basic control unit.

  4. Execute EOL programming

Navigate to the programming section and execute the EOL programming procedure for the front PTO. This will rewrite the correct pulse width parameters and recalculate the checksum.

  5. Clear fault codes

Clear the fault codes from the A050 memory.

  6. Test PTO engagement

Cycle the tractor's ignition and test the front PTO engagement to verify the fault code does not return.

  7. Repair or replace ECU

If the A050 ECU refuses to accept the EOL programming or drops the programming again after a battery cycle, the ECU's internal EEPROM is likely defective, and the A050 module will need to be repaired or replaced.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • A050 - ECU, Basic Control Unit

    G737.970.070.035, G737.970.070.037, G835.970.070.014, G931.970.070.032, G931.970.070.033, G931.970.070.046, R917006740

The exact part number depends heavily on the specific tractor model and chassis number. A replacement A050 ECU will be blank or locked to a different chassis and will require complete EOL programming and immobilizer pairing via FENDIAS to function in the new tractor.
