08.1.12

Fendt 08.1.12 – Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control): Y022 - Rear power lift, 'lower' function (Solenoid valve 'lower')

Issue description

The system has detected a fault in the Y022 lowering solenoid valve circuit (short circuit to earth, short circuit to +UB, or a break/open circuit). The electrohydraulic lifting gear control is locked for safety and the rear power lift will not lower electronically.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM I, COM II, COM III, and S4 generations)
  • Fendt Farmer 300 series
  • Favorit 500/800/900 series

Check the cause

  1. Perform a mechanical override test by relieving the lifting gear load, switching off the engine, and manually actuating the valve to verify if the spool is physically seized.

  2. Inspect separation point X333 (the electrical connector for the Y022 valve) and the wiring harness for breaks, chafing, or corrosion.

  3. Test the wiring harness for a short to ground or a short to battery voltage (+UB), and verify the internal resistance of the solenoid coil.

  4. Check the central electrical system for blown fuses related to the lifting gear control module.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Lower the rear hitch mechanically (if possible) or support it to relieve all hydraulic load. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the Y022 solenoid valve on the main hydraulic valve block for the enhanced control hydraulics. On many Vario models (like the 300 series), accessing this block requires removing the right rear wheel and taking off the protective metal guard.

  3. Removal

Disconnect the X333 electrical connector from the Y022 solenoid. Clean the area around the valve to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt and carefully remove the faulty solenoid valve/coil assembly.

  4. Installation

Install the replacement EHR solenoid valve. Ensure any O-rings or seals are properly seated and lubricated with clean hydraulic oil (STOU SAE 5W-40 or equivalent, as specified by Fendt).

  5. Reassembly

Reconnect the X333 wiring harness. Reinstall the protective metal guard and the right rear wheel (torquing lug nuts to spec).

  6. Calibration/Clearing

Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the Vario terminal to clear the 08.1.12 fault code. Test the rear power lift functionality using the cab controls.
