08.1.22

Fendt 08.1.22 – Rear EPC (Electronic Power Control) module: Signal fault with the Rotary position sensor for the rear power lift

Issue description

The system has detected that the sensor is faulty, out of position, or has a signal line fault. When this code is active, in-cab control of the rear power lift is barred and locked. The rear linkage will only be operable via the external pushbuttons on the rear fenders.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III, S4)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4, MT)

Check the cause

  1. Check Sensor Supply Voltage: Verify the reference voltage supplied to the sensor (8.5V supply from fuse 15 / A013, or 9.5V–10.0V supply from A014 or A005 depending on the series).

  2. Check Signal Voltage: Monitor the signal voltage returning to the EPC module (approx. 2.5 VDC in floating position, 6.1 VDC in transport lock; readings above 6.8 VDC trigger the fault).

  3. Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness and connectors for the B030/B145 sensor for physical damage, corrosion, or a severed signal line.

  4. Check Calibration Status: Ensure the sensor hasn't simply lost its calibration (which can sometimes log related B-series codes like 08.1.B0).

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and remove the ignition key.

  2. Access the Sensor

Locate the B030/B145 rotary position sensor on the rear rockshaft/power lift assembly.

  3. Replace the Sensor

If wiring and supply voltages tested good but the signal voltage was out of range, disconnect the sensor harness, unbolt the faulty sensor, and install the replacement.

  4. Calibrate the New Sensor

Access the tractor's calibration menu via the instrument panel/terminal and enter calibration code 8002 (Rear power lift position calibration). Follow the on-screen prompts to move the lift through its full range of motion. Once the terminal displays 'OK', turn the ignition key to position '0' (OFF) and wait for at least 15 seconds before switching the ignition back on.
