Fendt 08.1.31 – Rear EPC (Electrohydraulic Power Lift Control): B031 - Right draft sensing pin, rear power lift signal fault
Issue description
Signal fault, signal line fault, or complete sensor failure of the right draft sensing pin (B031). The system detects that the signal from the right pin is corrupt, missing, or short-circuited, which disables draft/traction control and restricts the system to position control only.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Check for mechanical overload on the lifting gear in the upper range (90-100% lift height) caused by settings that are too tight. Relieve the right draft sensing pin of any load to see if the code clears.
Test the supply voltage to the B031 sensor (should be 8.5 V, 9.5 V, or 10.0 V depending on the tractor model).
If voltage is missing, inspect the supply source (e.g., Fuse 14 from module A013, or modules A014/A005 depending on model).
Inspect the wiring harness and signal line for open circuits, chafing, or short circuits to ground/power between the Rear EPC and the B031 sensor.
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to monitor live data from the right draft sensing pin to verify if the signal is completely dead or erratic.
Repair steps
Relieve Load
Lower the rear power lift completely and detach any implements to relieve all mechanical load and shear forces from the right draft sensing pin.
Disconnect Battery
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Disconnect Sensor
Locate the B031 right draft sensing pin at the right lower link bearing point. Disconnect the 3-pole watertight electrical connector.
Remove the Pin
Remove the retaining hardware (snap rings, locking bolts, or retaining plates) securing the draft sensing pin. Slide the faulty pin out of the lower link bore.
Install New Pin
Clean the bore hole and install the new draft sensing pin. Ensure it is oriented correctly so the internal transformer aligns symmetrically with the bearing shear planes.
Reassemble and Reconnect
Secure the pin with its retaining hardware and plug in the electrical connector.
Clear Codes and Calibrate
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the FENDIAS system or the tractor's terminal to clear the 08.1.31 fault code. Test the rear power lift to ensure draft/traction control functionality has returned.
Parts you might need
(1)Right Draft Sensing Pin / Draught Sensing Pin (Rear Power Lift)
Equivalent AGCO/Massey Ferguson draft pins often use numbers like 4203476M3 or Bosch 60KN sensors. Verify exact part number with a Fendt dealer using chassis number, as voltage and pin diameter vary by series.
