Fendt 08.1.34 – Rear EPC (Electrohydraulic Power Control / lifting gear control) / A024 - ECU, EPC B: B032 - Sensor, left draught sensing pin
Issue description
The left draft sensing pin is either electrically short-circuited/experiencing a signal fault, or it is mechanically overloaded. Mechanically, this overload often occurs due to stress on the lifting gear in the upper range (90-100% lift height) if the lifting gear setting is too narrow. Electrically, it can point to a signal line fault or a fault in the sensor's supply voltage. The system will display a warning message, and the tractor will experience restricted or reduced control performance with the electrohydraulic traction control.

Check the cause
Mechanical Relief: Before assuming electrical failure, completely lower the rear hitch to relieve the left draft sensing pin of any physical load. Check if the fault code clears.
Check Lift Settings: Verify that the lifting gear settings are not set too narrow, which can cause mechanical binding and stress in the 90-100% lift height range.
Wiring and Connector Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for the B032 sensor. Specifically, check the separation point designated as X180 (Separation point on B032 sensor, left draught sensing pin) for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.
Voltage Testing: Turn on the ignition and measure the supply voltage at the sensor connector. Depending on the specific model, the supply voltage should read either 8.5 VDC or 9.5 VDC (e.g., Pin 5 or Pin C supplies power, Pin B is the signal, and Pin A is ground).
Continuity Testing: Check the signal wire and ground wire for continuity back to the A024 EPC control unit, ensuring there are no short circuits to ground or positive.
Repair steps
Relieve Tension
Lower the rear implement to the ground to remove all mechanical tension from the lower link draft pins.
Disconnect Electricals
Locate the left draft sensing pin (B032) at the base of the left lower link arm and disconnect its electrical connector (X180).
Remove Locking Hardware
Remove the lock plate and retaining bolts (e.g., M10x50 bolts) securing the draft pin in the tractor's cast housing.
Extract the Pin
Carefully slide or tap the faulty draft sensing pin out of the lower link bracket.
Inspect Bushings
Inspect the internal mounting bushings (e.g., part 816860070020) for excessive wear or damage. Replace them if necessary to prevent premature failure of the new sensor.
Install New Sensor
Lubricate (if specified) and insert the new draft sensing pin. Secure it with the lock plate and retaining bolts.
Reconnect and Route
Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring the corrugated protective pipe and cable straps are securely routed away from moving linkage parts.
Calibration
Connect a diagnostic interface (such as FENDIAS) to clear the stored 08.1.34 fault code. Perform a draft sensor calibration/adaptation so the EHR controller can learn the new sensor's zero-point.
