08.1.37

Fendt 08.1.37 – Rear EPC: S027, S029 - External button raise left and right, rear power lift

Issue description

Button raise line interruption or Signal line fault. The tractor's computer has detected a break in the wiring circuit, a loss of signal, or a mechanical failure in the external pushbuttons used to raise the rear three-point hitch from outside the cab.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario series
  • Fendt 400 Vario series
  • Fendt 500 Vario series
  • Fendt 700 Vario series
  • Fendt 800 Vario series
  • Fendt 900 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the external raise buttons on the rear fenders (S027 on the right fender, S029 on the left fender) for physical damage, sticking mechanisms, or heavy moisture/dirt ingress.

  2. Trace the wiring harness from the S027 and S029 switches back to the Rear EPC control module. Look for pinched wires, breaks, or rubbed-through insulation causing a short to ground or an open circuit.

  3. Disconnect the switches and check the electrical contacts for corrosion or bent pins.

  4. Attempt to clear the fault code from the tractor's terminal memory. If the code immediately returns upon startup, it is a hard fault (likely a dead switch or severed wire) rather than an intermittent glitch.

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any attached implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.

Ensure the machine is safe to work on.

  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

Safety precaution before working on electrical components.

  3. Locate the faulty external lift switch on the rear fender (left or right, depending on which side failed).

Identify the specific switch to be replaced.

  4. Reach under the fender housing and carefully disconnect the wiring harness plug from the back of the switch.

    Disconnect the electrical connection.

  5. Remove the retaining clips or screws holding the switch in the fender panel and push the old switch out.

Extract the faulty switch from the housing.

  6. Clean the wiring harness connector thoroughly. Applying a small amount of dielectric grease to the new switch contacts is recommended to prevent future moisture corrosion.

Prepare the connection for the new switch.

  7. Snap the new OEM switch into the fender housing and reconnect the wiring harness.

    Install the replacement switch.

  8. Reconnect the battery, turn on the tractor's ignition, and navigate to the terminal to clear the stored 08.1.37 fault code.

Restore power and clear the fault memory.

  9. Test the external raise button to ensure the rear power lift actuates smoothly.

    Verify the repair was successful.
