08.1.41

Fendt 08.1.41 – Rear EPC (Electrohydraulic Power Control) control module: S030 - Switch (external), lower rear power lift, left

Issue description

This code indicates a signal line fault or a faulty button mechanism on the external switch used to lower the rear linkage from the left rear fender. The external lower button is barred and locked, rendering it inoperable. However, the rear power lift can still be operated internally from the cab. The external button will remain locked until the next trouble-free cold start (ignition cycle).

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Visual Inspection: Inspect the S030 switch on the left rear fender for physical damage, water ingress, or sticking buttons.

  2. Wiring & Connector Check: Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the switch for corrosion, broken wires, or a short circuit. The fault is often a signal line fault.

  3. Continuity Test: Use a multimeter to test the S030 switch for proper open/closed continuity when pressed.

  4. Module Voltage Check: Verify the voltage at the Rear EPC control module. Related faults can trigger if the module receives a stable voltage of < 1 volt or > 18 volts.

  5. Circuit Diagram Reference: Refer to the Electrohydraulic power lift control circuit diagram (often Sheet 7 or Sheet 25 in Fendt manuals) to trace the signal line back to the EPC module.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor ignition and remove the key.

  2. Access the Switch

Locate the S030 external lower switch on the left rear fender.

  3. Disconnect

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the back of the switch.

  4. Remove and Replace

Unclip or unscrew the faulty switch from the fender housing and install the replacement switch.

  5. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the weather seal is intact to prevent future moisture ingress.

  6. Clear the Fault (Cold Start)

The system requires a trouble-free cold start to reset the locked control. Turn the ignition ON, wait a few seconds for the modules to initialize, and verify that the fault code has cleared.

  7. Test Operation

Test the external left lower button to ensure the rear power lift responds correctly.
