08.1.42

Fendt 08.1.42 – Rear Power Lift (EPC): S027 - Switch (external), raise rear power lift, right.

Issue description

The system has detected a signal line fault or a faulty button circuit on the external "raise" switch located on the right rear fender.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario Series
  • 400 Vario Series
  • 500 Vario Series
  • 700 Vario Series (including SCR models)
  • 800 Vario Series (including SCR models)
  • 900 Vario Series (COM III, S4, etc.)

Check the cause

  1. Test the internal rear power lift controls inside the cab. If the internal controls work perfectly, the issue is isolated to the external S027 switch circuit on the right fender.

  2. Turn the tractor ignition OFF, wait a few moments, and turn it back ON (cold start). Check if the fault code clears or immediately returns when the switch is pressed.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the right rear fender switch. Look for pinched wires, chafing against the mudguard, or mud/debris buildup.

  4. Disconnect the 2-pin connector at the back of the S027 switch. Inspect for moisture, dirt, or corroded contacts.

  5. Use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity when pressed. If the switch shows an open circuit when pressed or a short when released, the switch itself has failed internally.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

Park the tractor on level ground, lower any attached implements to the ground, put the transmission in PARK, and turn off the ignition.

  2. Access the Switch

Locate the S027 "Raise" switch on the right rear fender/mudguard.

  3. Disconnect

Reach behind the fender panel and carefully unplug the electrical connector from the switch.

  4. Remove the Faulty Switch

Depending on the exact fender trim, depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it outward through the fender bezel.

  5. Clean the Harness

Thoroughly clean the harness connector. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the terminals to prevent future moisture ingress and corrosion.

  6. Install the New Switch

Snap the new OEM switch into the fender housing until the retaining clips lock it securely in place.

  7. Reconnect and Test

Plug the wiring harness back into the switch. Turn on the tractor ignition, wait for the instrument cluster to boot, and verify that fault code 08.1.42 is no longer active. Test the external raise function to ensure proper operation.
