08.1.50

Fendt 08.1.50 – Rear EPC: B031 - Right draft sensing pin, rear power lift

Issue description

The right draft sensing pin is overloaded. This is often the result of the lift twisting in the upper range (90-100% lift height) due to a mechanical setting that is too tight. The code can also be triggered by a signal line fault, a faulty sensor, or a failure in the reference supply voltage. Consequently, the tractor will reduce the load on the draft sensing pin, resulting in restricted control quality or limited performance during traction control, and may default to position control only.

Applies to these machines

  • 309 Vario COM III
  • 310 Vario COM III
  • 311 Vario COM III
  • 312 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario series
  • 400 Vario series
  • 700 Vario series
  • 800 Vario series
  • 900 Vario series
  • 900 Vario series COM III
  • 900 Vario series S4

Check the cause

  1. Lower the rear power lift to relieve the physical draught/load on the right sensing pin to see if the fault clears

  2. Check the rear power lift linkage for twisting or binding when it reaches the upper range (90-100% lift height) and ensure mechanical settings are not adjusted too tightly

  3. Check the supply voltage to the B031 sensor using a multimeter (the Rear EPC ECU should supply 8.5 V, 9.5 V, or 10.0 V depending on the model)

  4. Inspect the signal line and wiring harness between the B031 sensor and the Rear EPC ECU for open circuits or short circuits

Repair steps

  1. Lower the Implement

Safely lower the rear power lift to the ground to remove all tension and load from the lower link bearing points.

  2. Adjust Lift Settings

If the diagnostic checks revealed twisting in the upper lift range, adjust the mechanical linkage settings to prevent binding at 90-100% lift height.

  3. Test the Circuit

Disconnect the B031 right draft sensing pin. Test the wiring harness for continuity and verify the correct reference voltage from the ECU. Repair any damaged wiring.

  4. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring and voltage are intact but the fault persists (or if the sensor is physically damaged/shorted), the B031 draft sensing pin is internally faulty. Remove the faulty pin from the right lower link and install the replacement draft sensing pin.

  5. Reassembly and Calibration

Reconnect the sensor harness. Clear the stored fault codes from the terminal and test the electrohydraulic power lift control to ensure full traction control performance has been restored.
