08.1.A5

Fendt 08.1.A5 – A050 ECU (Basic Control Unit): Incorrect valve code (SA/DA) for selecting EOL

Issue description

The tractor's system is detecting an incorrect configuration code (Single Acting / Double Acting) for the rear Electronic Hitch Control (EHR) valve during End-of-Line (EOL) programming. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves to neutral and locks, and the pilot pressure is turned OFF.

Check the cause

  1. Check for accompanying A050 ECU EEPROM errors (such as 08.1.A0, 08.1.A1, or 08.1.A2), which indicate that the valve's internal memory is failing to save or read data.

  2. Verify if the valve has lost its configuration due to a dead battery, recent software update, or ECU swap.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the Y077 rear power lift control valve for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins that could interrupt the CAN/LIN communication to the A050 ECU.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic software

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software for Software Re-calibration (EOL Programming).

  2. Navigate to EOL programming

Navigate to the EOL (End-of-Line) programming menu for the rear power lift.

  3. Re-enter valve code

Re-enter or correct the valve code configuration (SA/DA - Single Acting / Double Acting) to match the physical valve installed on the tractor.

  4. Clear codes and test

Clear the fault codes and cycle the ignition. Test the rear hitch to see if the valve unlocks and resumes normal operation.

  5. Replace valve assembly

If the EOL programming fails to save, or if the valve throws an immediate 08.1.A2 (EEPROM error) or 08.1.F9 (Valve actuator mechanically jammed) upon reboot, the electronic module on the EHR valve has failed internally and the valve assembly must be replaced.

  6. Perform EOL programming and calibrate

After installing a new valve, you must perform EOL programming and calibrate the rear power lift position sensors (Calibration code 8002) so the A050 ECU recognizes the new component.
