08.1.F5

Fendt 08.1.F5 – A050 ECU (Basic Control Unit) / EHR: Y077 - EHR cut-off valve, rear: High overvoltage (> 45V)

Issue description

The system detects an abnormally high voltage spike (greater than 45 volts) at the Y077 EHR cut-off valve for the rear power lift. As a safety measure, the system immediately forces the valve to move to neutral and lock, turning the pilot pressure OFF and preventing any actuation of the rear power lift.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario
  • Fendt 400 Vario
  • Fendt 700 Vario
  • Fendt 800 Vario
  • Fendt 900 Vario

Check the cause

  1. Perform a system reset by turning the tractor's ignition OFF and then ON again to see if the overvoltage was a temporary spike.

  2. Use the Varioterminal multi-display or a dedicated diagnostic tool (like TEXA Navigator or SERDIA) to check if the 08.1.F5 code is currently active or just stored in the history.

  3. Use a multimeter to test the wiring harness connected to the Y077 valve, looking specifically for a short to a high-voltage power source (> 45V).

  4. Measure the voltage output directly from the A050 Basic Control Unit pins that feed the rear EPC cut-off valve to rule out an internal ECU short.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Component

The Y077 EHR cut-off valve is located at the rear of the tractor on the rear hydraulic valve block.

  2. Isolate the Short

If the multimeter test reveals >45V at the connector, trace the wiring harness back to the A050 ECU to find and repair the short circuit.

  3. Inspect the Valve

If the wiring is sound, the solenoid coil on the Y077 valve itself may have failed internally. Remove the faulty Y077 valve.

  4. Clean the Housing

Before installing a replacement, thoroughly clean the valve bore on the rear valve block. Any debris left behind can prevent proper seating and cause the new valve actuator to mechanically jam.

  5. Install Replacement

Install the new cut-off valve and reconnect the wiring harness.

  6. Clear Fault Codes

Turn the ignition on. Access the diagnostics menu on the Varioterminal (press F3 to confirm/acknowledge the fault, then clear it) or use your diagnostic laptop to clear the code from the A050 ECU memory.

  7. Operational Test

Test the rear power lift controls to ensure the hitch raises and lowers smoothly and the valve no longer locks in neutral.
