Fendt 09.1.22 – Front Power Lift / Hydraulics control system (A002 or A013): Sensor, front power lift position (B040) - Sensor faulty or Faulty signal line

The system detects an invalid signal or an open/short circuit in the sensor's wiring. No position control is possible from the cab. The front power lift is operable only via the external buttons on the front of the tractor.

   Verify the 8.5 V reference voltage at the B040 sensor connector. This voltage is supplied by module A013. If missing, check fuse 11 or 12.

   Check the signal line between the B040 sensor and the ECU for continuity, shorts to ground, or chafing. The sensor outputs a 4-20mA signal.

   Ensure the sensor is not physically damaged, out of position, or disconnected from the linkage mechanism.

   Look for related codes 9.1.B0 or 9.1.B1, which indicate the sensor is out of calibration or has a complete signal loss.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor ignition and relieve any hydraulic pressure from the front linkage.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the B040 position sensor mounted on the front power lift assembly (front axle/linkage area).

   Test the Circuit

   Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to confirm the 8.5 V supply and a good ground.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring is intact and voltage is present but the fault persists (or the 4-20mA output is dead), remove the mounting hardware and linkage arm from the old sensor and install the new B040 sensor.

   Calibrate the System

   Calibrate the front power lift position sensor via the tractor's terminal. Enter the Fendt diagnostic/calibration menu and run Calibration Code "9002" (Front Power Lift Position Sensor Calibration).

   Clear and Test

   Clear the 09.1.22 fault code and test the linkage using both the in-cab controls and the external buttons to ensure full functionality.
