09.1.A0

Fendt 09.1.A0 – A050 Basic Control Unit: EEPROM error when saving (Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front)

Issue description

The control unit attempted to write or save data regarding the front hitch cut-off valve to its non-volatile memory and failed. As a safety measure, the system will force the valve to move to neutral and lock, and pilot pressure will be turned OFF.

Check the cause

  1. Clear the fault codes using the tractor's terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic tool. Cycle the ignition (key OFF, wait 30 seconds, key ON) and operate the front power lift to see if the code actively returns.

  2. Verify the battery voltage and check the main ground connections to the A050 Basic Control Unit, as low voltage or poor grounds can cause memory write failures.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness between the A050 control unit and the Y070 front EHR cut-off valve. Look for chafing, shorts to ground, or shorts to power that could send improper voltage spikes back to the ECU.

  4. Check if the A050 Basic Control Unit has the latest software version, as software glitches are a common cause of EEPROM saving errors.

Repair steps

  1. Perform EOL Programming

Re-flash or perform End-Of-Line (EOL) programming on the A050 Basic Control Unit using the FENDIAS dealer software.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed any damaged wiring between the Y070 valve and the A050 ECU, repair the harness and clear the codes.

  3. Replace the A050 Basic Control Unit

If the wiring is intact, voltage is correct, and EOL programming fails or the code immediately returns, the EEPROM chip inside the A050 Basic Control Unit has likely failed physically. The module will need to be replaced and programmed to the tractor.

  4. Replace the Y070 Valve

If the Y070 valve's solenoid is internally shorted and causing the ECU to crash during actuation, the valve itself may need replacement.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • A050 Basic Control Unit (ECU)

Must be programmed (EOL) to the specific tractor via FENDIAS after installation.

  • EHR Cut-off Valve, Front (Front Power Lift / FKH Valve)

Located in the front hydraulic valve block.
