09.1.A4

Fendt 09.1.A4 – A050 ECU or A002 ECU: Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front Flash_Test failure

Issue description

The valve has failed an internal memory/flash test or has lost its programming parameters. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves to neutral and locks. The pilot pressure is turned OFF, disabling the front power lift.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III and SCR generations)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III and SCR generations)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III and SCR generations)

Check the cause

  1. Check for related Y070 valve codes that indicate memory or programming failures, such as 09.1.A2 (EEPROM error), 09.1.A3 (RAM_Test failure), or 09.1.A5 (Incorrect valve code SA/DA)

  2. Inspect the physical wiring harness and connectors leading to the Y070 valve at the front power lift control block to rule out a communication drop causing the flash test to fail

  3. Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to see if the valve can still communicate with the A050 ECU or if it has completely lost its flash memory

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Tool

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  2. Perform EOL Programming

Attempt to re-flash and calibrate the Y070 valve.

  3. Test Operation

If the EOL programming is accepted, clear the fault codes and test the front power lift to ensure the valve unlocks and pilot pressure is restored.

  4. Replace Valve

If the valve fails the EOL programming or the Flash_Test error immediately returns, the internal memory of the Y070 valve is permanently damaged. The physical valve must be replaced.

  5. Calibrate New Valve

After installing a replacement Y070 valve, you must perform EOL programming on the new unit to assign it the correct address and calibrate it to the tractor's system.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • EHR cut-off valve, front (Comfort front power lift control valve / Y070 EPC cut-off valve)

Must be matched to the specific Vario series (e.g., 700 vs. 900) and requires FENDIAS EOL programming immediately after physical installation to function.
