09.1.B0

Fendt 09.1.B0 – Front Power Lift control system: B040 - Sensor, front power lift position

Issue description

The front power lift position sensor is not calibrated (Calibration code 9002). As a consequence of this fault, automatic position control is disabled, and the front power lift can only be operated manually via the external buttons.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario S4 Series (e.g., 922, 924, 927, 930, 933, 936, 939)
  • Fendt Favorit 900 Series (e.g., 916, 920, 924, 926)

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the B040 sensor on the right bottom link (in the direction of travel) behind the protective guard to ensure it is physically in position and the linkage is not damaged.

  2. Verify that the sensor is receiving an 8.5 VDC supply (Pin 32 / X1402). If voltage is missing, check fuse 11 or 12 on the A013 fuse board.

  3. Monitor the signal wire (Pin 38 / X1403) with the ignition ON. The voltage should sweep smoothly as the lift moves (e.g., reading around 3.8 VDC at maximum lift height and dropping toward 0 VDC at the lowest position).

  4. Check the wiring harness for a broken signal line.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare tractor

Ensure the tractor is parked on level ground with the front power lift free of any implements.

  2. Access menu

Access the tractor's onboard diagnostic/calibration menu via the terminal.

  3. Enter calibration code

Enter Calibration Code "9002", which is the specific routine for the front power lift position sensor.

  4. Cycle lift

Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle the front lift through its upper and lower limits so the ECU can learn the sensor's voltage range.

  5. Verify linkage

If the calibration fails (e.g., throwing a secondary calibration fault code), or if the sensor was physically moved/replaced, verify the mechanical linkage.

  6. Replace sensor

If the sensor is internally shorted or has a dead spot in its voltage sweep, remove the guard on the right bottom link, disconnect the wiring harness, unbolt the faulty B040 sensor, and install a new one.

  7. Recalibrate

Always run the 9002 calibration routine after installing a new sensor or adjusting the linkage.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Front Power Lift Position Sensor (B040)

Mounts on the right bottom link in the direction of travel. Used exclusively on models optioned with the enhanced control / comfort front power lift.
