09.1.E3

Fendt 09.1.E3 – A050 basic control unit: Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front: Overvoltage, safe

Issue description

The system has detected a voltage supply to the Y070 EHR cut-off valve exceeding 18 volts. As a safety measure, the valve actuator moves to neutral and locks, disabling the front power lift.

Check the cause

  1. Measure the tractor's battery and alternator output voltage while the engine is running to check for an overcharging alternator voltage regulator (spiking above 18V).

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Y070 valve for chafing or shorts to a higher voltage source.

  3. Disconnect the Y070 valve and measure the voltage at the connector pins with the ignition ON to verify if the overvoltage is isolated to this circuit.

  4. Check for accompanying cascading fault codes like 09.1.A2 (EEPROM error) or 09.1.E6 (Final stage error), which indicate severe overvoltage has permanently damaged the valve's integrated electronics.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, mechanically support or fully lower the front linkage to relieve hydraulic pressure, and turn off the engine. Disconnect the battery.

  2. Locate the Valve

The Y070 valve is typically located on the central valve block on the right side of the tractor (behind the side panel).

  3. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around the central valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  4. Removal

Disconnect the electrical connector from the Y070 valve. Unbolt the cut-off valve from the hydraulic block. Have a catch pan ready for residual hydraulic oil.

  5. Installation

Install the new Y070 valve using new O-rings/seals. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specification. Reconnect the electrical connector.

  6. Reassembly & Calibration

Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's terminal to clear the 09.1.E3 fault code. Note: Installing a new EHR valve often requires EOL (End of Line) programming or calibration (Calibration code '9002' for the front power lift) so the A050 controller recognizes the new valve's EEPROM.

  7. Testing

Start the tractor and test the front power lift to ensure it raises, lowers, and holds pressure without locking out.
