Fendt 09.1.E4 – Basic Control Unit (ECU A050): Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front actuator falls short

The Y070 EHR cut-off valve (Comfort front power lift control valve) actuator falls short and stops before reaching its commanded position. This is typically caused by brief control pressure dips in the hydraulic system or highly viscous hydraulic oil at very low ambient temperatures. As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves to the neutral position and locks, disabling the front power lift.

   Check the ambient temperature and the hydraulic oil temperature; if operating in extreme cold, allow the tractor to reach proper operating temperature to see if the fault clears.

   Check the hydraulic fluid level and condition.

   Perform a hydraulic pressure test to check for control pressure dips in the pilot circuit that feeds the front EHR valve.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the Y070 valve, ensuring there are no related electrical fault codes present (such as 09.1.E2 or 09.1.E5).

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the code and cycle the front hitch to see if the actuator is permanently jammed or if the code was a temporary cold-weather anomaly.

   Depressurize the System

   Safely lower the front power lift to the ground and shut off the engine. Relieve all hydraulic system pressure before proceeding.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the Y070 front EHR cut-off valve, which is situated on the front hydraulic control block.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the valve solenoid.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt and carefully remove the defective valve. Have a catch pan ready for residual hydraulic fluid.

   Clean and Prep

   Clean the mounting port thoroughly, ensuring no dirt or debris enters the hydraulic system.

   Install the replacement valve using new O-rings/seals to prevent leaks. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Check the tractor's hydraulic fluid level and top up if necessary.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Connect your diagnostic tool, clear the stored 09.1.E4 fault code, and perform any required EOL (End of Line) programming or valve calibration. Test the front power lift for proper operation.
