09.1.E7

Fendt 09.1.E7 – A050 Basic Control Unit (ECU): Position pickup sensor error on front EHR cut-off valve

Issue description

The system has detected a signal failure or out-of-range reading from the position sensor on the front hitch cut-off valve (Y070/Y181). As a safety measure, the valve automatically moves to neutral and locks, disabling the front power lift.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario series
  • Fendt 700 Vario series (e.g., SCR models)
  • Fendt 900 Vario series (e.g., COM III, SCR models)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the position pickup sensor on the Y070 / Y181 front EHR cut-off valve for broken wires, chafing, or corroded pins.

  2. Use a multimeter or FENDIAS diagnostic software to check the voltage supply and signal return from the position sensor.

  3. Check the hydraulic fluid for debris, as a jammed spool due to contamination can sometimes cause the position sensor to read out of bounds.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the front hitch to the ground (if possible) to relieve mechanical tension, turn off the engine, and apply the handbrake. Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the front power lift system.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the Y070 (or Y181) front power lift control valve on the front hydraulic block.

  3. Disconnect and Inspect

Disconnect the electrical connector to the position pickup sensor. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness.

  4. Remove the Valve/Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor is dead, remove the sensor. On many Fendt hydraulic valves, the position sensor is integrated into the solenoid/valve actuator assembly and must be replaced as a single unit.

  5. Clean the Valve Block

If you are removing the valve cartridge, inspect the spool for scoring or mechanical jamming. Clean the port and ensure no hydraulic contamination is present.

  6. Install the New Part

Install the replacement sensor or valve assembly. Torque to OEM specifications and reconnect the wiring harness.

  7. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Turn the ignition on. Use the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the 09.1.E7 fault code. Test the front power lift to ensure full functionality and that the code does not return.
