09.1.E8

Fendt 09.1.E8 – A050 Basic Control Unit: Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front actuator does not return to neutral position

Issue description

The valve actuator does not return to its neutral position, typically due to mechanical jamming caused by contamination in the hydraulics area. Consequently, the valve remains deflected when the engine is running, the valve locks, and the pilot pressure is turned OFF.

Check the cause

  1. Check the hydraulic fluid for metal shavings, dirt, or degraded oil, as contamination is the most frequent cause of mechanical jamming.

  2. Verify the wiring harness and connector at the Y070 valve for short circuits to earth or breaks to rule out electrical faults mimicking mechanical failures.

  3. Check the A013 fuse board (specifically fuses related to the front power lift, often Fuse 12 or 13) to ensure the valve is receiving proper voltage.

  4. With the engine off and hydraulic pressure relieved, perform a manual actuation test to see if the valve spool can be moved manually or if it is physically seized.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the front power lift to the ground to relieve mechanical tension, turn off the engine, and relieve all hydraulic system pressure.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the Y070 EHR front cut-off valve on the front hydraulic control block.

  3. Disconnect Electricals

Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Y070 solenoid actuator.

  4. Remove the Valve

Unbolt and remove the Y070 valve from the hydraulic block. Have a catch pan ready to collect residual hydraulic fluid.

  5. Inspect and Clean

Inspect the valve spool and the bore in the hydraulic block for scoring, debris, or contamination. If the contamination is minor, cleaning the valve and block with hydraulic solvent may free the jammed actuator.

  6. Replace if Damaged

If the valve is heavily scored or remains jammed after cleaning, it must be replaced.

  7. System Flush

If significant contamination was found, you must replace the hydraulic filters and flush the hydraulic fluid to prevent the new valve from jamming immediately.

  8. Reinstallation

Install the new (or cleaned) Y070 valve, torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the electrical harness.

  9. Clear Codes and Test

Turn on the tractor, use the terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic software to clear the 09.1.E8 fault code, and test the front power lift through its full range of motion.
