Fendt 09.1.E9 – A050 Basic Control Unit: Y070 - EHR cut-off valve, front actuator not in neutral position

The valve actuator is not in the neutral position when the system is switched on. The valve remains deflected when the engine is running, the valve locks out for safety, and the pilot pressure is forced OFF. The most frequent cause is that the valve actuator mechanically jams due to contamination or debris in the hydraulics area.

   Check hydraulic fluid for dirt, metal shavings, or degraded oil, as contamination is the primary cause of this fault.

   Verify electrical voltage at the Y070 valve connector using a multimeter (should read 0 VDC inactive, 12-14 VDC active) to ensure the A050 control unit is sending correct signals.

   Attempt to manually actuate the front power lift (with engine at 800 rpm, oil at 40-50°C) to check for mechanical binding.

   Inspect the wiring harness and fuses (e.g., fuse 13 on X1470/X1471 circuit) for electrical shorts.

   Relieve System Pressure

   Turn off the engine. Lower the front power lift to the ground to remove any load. Relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system by actuating the hydraulic controls while the engine is off.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the Y070 EHR cut-off valve on the central hydraulic control block (usually situated near the front power lift assembly or main valve stack).

   Disconnect Electricals

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Y070 solenoid actuator.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt and extract the Y070 cut-off valve from the hydraulic block. Have a catch pan ready for residual hydraulic oil.

   Inspect and Clean

   Inspect the valve spool and the bore in the hydraulic block for scoring, debris, or contamination. Flush the bore with clean hydraulic fluid.

   Replace or Reinstall

   If the valve was simply jammed by a small piece of debris and is undamaged, it can be thoroughly cleaned and reinstalled. However, if the spool is scored or permanently jammed, the valve must be replaced.

   Reassembly

   Install the new/cleaned valve, torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Fluid Top-Up

   Check the hydraulic oil level and top up with the approved fluid (e.g., Fendt Permatran 821XL Plus) if any was lost during the repair.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Use the tractor's terminal or FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the 09.1.E9 fault code from the A050 basic control unit. Start the tractor and test the front power lift to ensure the valve returns to neutral and operates smoothly.
