09.1.EA

Fendt 09.1.EA – A050 Basic Control Unit: Y070 EHR cut-off valve actuator deflected too far

Issue description

The valve actuator has deflected too far. As a safety measure, the system forces the valve to move to neutral and locks it, shutting off the pilot pressure.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Y070 front EHR cut-off valve actuator for physical binding, debris, or mechanical damage that would cause it to deflect beyond its normal operating range.

  2. Verify the hydraulic pilot pressure (note that the system automatically shuts off pilot pressure when this fault is active, so the fault must be cleared or bypassed to test flow).

  3. Check the wiring harness connecting the Y070 valve to the A050 Basic Control Unit for shorts or high-voltage surges.

  4. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the Variotronic Ti terminal to check for accompanying A050 EEPROM or RAM errors (codes 09.1.A0 through 09.1.A4), which indicate a software or control unit failure rather than a mechanical valve failure.

Repair steps

  1. Secure the Machine

Lower the front power lift to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure. Turn off the engine and turn on the ignition to access the diagnostic terminal.

  2. Clear Active Faults

Attempt to clear the 09.1.EA fault code via the tractor's terminal to see if the valve actuator resets from its locked neutral position.

  3. Actuator Servicing

If the code returns immediately upon actuating the front power lift, remove the Y070 valve. Clean the control slide and inspect the proportional pressure relief components for wear.

  4. Valve Replacement

If the actuator is internally damaged or the sensor track is ruined (causing the 'deflected too far' reading), replace the Y070 EHR cut-off valve assembly.

  5. EOL Programming

If the valve is replaced, perform EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration to teach the A050 basic control unit the new valve's neutral and deflection limits.
