09.1.ED

Fendt 09.1.ED – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Y070 [FKH] - EHR cut-off valve, front: Pilot control actuator jams

Issue description

The pilot control actuator jams. The valve locks, and the pilot pressure is turned OFF. The system detects that the valve actuator does not return to its neutral position, which is frequently caused by mechanical jamming of the pilot control or main actuator due to contamination in the hydraulic fluid.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 916 Vario COM III
  • 920 Vario COM III
  • 926 Vario COM III
  • 800 Vario COM III
  • 700 Vario COM III
  • 400 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario COM III

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the Y070 front EHR cut-off valve for damage, corrosion, or loose connections

  2. Check if the valve actuator is mechanically stuck in a deflected position when the engine is on

  3. Check the hydraulic fluid for heavy contamination or debris, as this is the primary cause of the actuator jamming

  4. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic tool or the tractor's terminal to manually command the front power lift and monitor if the valve attempts to shift or remains locked in neutral

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the front power lift to the ground to relieve mechanical tension, and turn off the engine.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system before opening any hydraulic lines to prevent injury.

  3. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around the front EHR cut-off valve (Y070) to ensure no dirt enters the hydraulic system during removal.

  4. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the Y070 solenoid valve.

  5. Removal

Unbolt and remove the Y070 cut-off valve from the front hydraulic block.

  6. Inspection/Cleaning

Inspect the valve spool and pilot actuator for scoring, metal shavings, or debris. If the jam was caused by minor debris, cleaning the valve with hydraulic solvent and re-lubricating it may free the actuator.

  7. Replacement

If the valve is scored or permanently jammed, install a new EHR cut-off valve.

  8. Reassembly

Bolt the new/cleaned valve into place, reconnect the hydraulic lines (if applicable), and plug in the electrical connector.

  9. Fluid Maintenance

If contamination was found, replace the hydraulic fluid and hydraulic filters to prevent the new valve from jamming.

  10. Calibration/Clearing

Turn on the tractor, clear the 09.1.ED fault code via the terminal or FENDIAS, and test the front power lift for proper operation.

Parts you might need

(5)
  • Front EHR Cut-off Valve / Solenoid Valve (Y070)

Ensure you are ordering the valve specifically designated for the front power lift (FKH), as the rear power lift uses a different cut-off valve (Y077).
