0A.1.BA

Fendt 0A.1.BA – A039 - MFA (Multifunction Armrest): A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest: Linear module 3 (rocker) not calibrated

Issue description

The electronic control unit has lost or never received the calibration values (end stops and neutral position) for the third linear rocker switch on the multifunction armrest. As a result, the associated hydraulic valve position cannot be controlled and will not function.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 200 V/F/P Vario Series: 207, 208, 209, 210, 211
  • 300 Vario Series: COM III models
  • 400 Vario Series: 409, 410, 411, 412 (COM III)
  • 700 Vario Series: 711, 712, 714, 716, 718, 720, 722, 724 (COM III & SCR)
  • 800 Vario Series: 815, 817, 818 (COM III & S4)
  • 900 Vario Series: 916, 920, 922, 924, 926, 927, 930, 933, 936 (COM III & SCR)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect Linear module 3 (rocker switch) to ensure it is not physically jammed, locked in a detent position, or being accidentally pressed when the ignition is switched on

  2. Check the catch mechanism; if the linear module is locked in position, release and unlock it so it returns to the neutral position

  3. If the module does not respond during calibration (Error F03), inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the MFA and the Basic Control Unit (ECU)

Repair steps

  1. Ensure the tractor is stationary and the preliminary conditions for calibration are met (e.g., engine running or ignition on, transmission in neutral).

Preliminary conditions vary by specific model's operator manual.

  2. Access the tractor's calibration menu via the terminal/dashboard display.

  3. Input Calibration Code 1005.

This is the specific code designated for 'A039 - MFA, multifunction armrest linear module 3'.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to actuate the rocker switch fully in both directions.

This teaches the ECU the minimum, maximum, and neutral voltage values of the switch's potentiometer.

  5. Save the calibration.

  6. Troubleshoot calibration failures if the terminal displays a sub-code.

F01: Preliminary conditions not satisfied. F02: Calibrated values are faulty (worn/broken potentiometer). F08: Calibration taking too long (more than 30 seconds).

  7. Replace the linear module if calibration fails with an F02 error.

An F02 error indicates the linear module is defective.

  8. Clear the stored 0A.1.BA fault code from the tractor's memory.

Stored codes must be cleared individually once successfully calibrated or replaced.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Linear Module 3 (Rocker Switch) / Multifunction Armrest (MFA) Assembly

Verify the replacement part against the tractor's exact chassis number. The MFA configuration varies heavily depending on the tractor's equipment package (e.g., Profi vs. Power equipment levels).
