Fendt 0A.1.C0 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: A039 (or A100) - MFA, multifunction armrest: "MFA not fitted" or "Multi-function armrest not available"

The tractor's electronic system is unable to detect or communicate with the Multifunction Armrest (MFA) on the CAN bus network. Because the system cannot read inputs from the armrest, "Auto mode" is disabled, and the hydraulic valves are locked (actuation not possible) as a safety precaution.

   Verify that the A039/A100 MFA module is receiving proper operating voltage and has a solid ground connection

   Check the CAN bus wiring between the A050 Basic Control Unit and the A039/A100 MFA for broken wires, chafing, or pinched harnesses

   Inspect the main multi-pin connector at the base of the multifunction armrest for loose pins, pushed-back terminals, or corrosion

   Verify via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool that the MFA is correctly registered in the tractor's End-of-Line (EOL) programming

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Remove protective covers

   Remove the protective covers beneath the multifunction armrest to access the wiring harness and the A039/A100 control module connections.

   Disconnect and clean the main harness connector

   Disconnect the main harness connector. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and check for any signs of moisture or terminal damage.

   Test CAN bus continuity

   Using a multimeter, test the continuity of the CAN High and CAN Low lines from the armrest connector back to the A050 ECU. Repair any breaks in the wiring harness.

   Reconnect harness and test

   Reconnect the harness and restore battery power. Turn the ignition on and check if the 0A.1.C0 code clears.

   Replace or repair the MFA control unit

   If the wiring, power, and ground are all intact but the code persists, the internal circuitry of the MFA control unit has failed. The armrest module must be removed and either replaced with a new OEM unit or sent to an agricultural electronics specialist (e.g., Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for board-level repair.

   Install the new or repaired multifunction armrest

   Install the new or repaired multifunction armrest.

   Clear fault codes and perform EOL programming

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to clear the fault codes. You may need to perform EOL programming and calibrate the joystick/linear modules (crossgate levers) so the A050 ECU recognizes the new component's parameters.
