0A.1.CA

Fendt 0A.1.CA – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Steering axle checksum incorrect

Issue description

A data validation error indicating that the memory parameters or software checksum related to the steering axle configuration have become corrupted or are reading incorrectly within the control unit, resulting in steering axle deactivation.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 919 Vario COM III
  • 925 Vario COM III
  • 931 Vario COM III
  • 934 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario series
  • 400 Vario series
  • 700 Vario series

Check the cause

  1. Verify the fault code on the instrument panel (A036/A007) or terminal and confirm if the steering axle has been deactivated.

  2. Recognize that this is a software parameter corruption or internal EEPROM memory failure, not an external wiring or sensor issue.

  3. Attempt to clear the code using FENDIAS diagnostic software, as it cannot be permanently deleted using standard dashboard buttons.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic software

Connect a laptop with FENDIAS diagnostic software to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Read memory and clear code

Read the A050 Basic Control Unit memory and attempt to clear the fault code.

  3. Perform EOL programming

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming to re-flash/re-program the A050 ECU to rewrite the correct steering axle parameters and correct the checksum mismatch.

  4. Diagnose ECU failure

If the EOL programming fails, or if the checksum error immediately returns after a reboot, determine that the A050 basic control unit has suffered an internal hardware/memory failure.

  5. Repair or replace ECU

Remove the defective A050 ECU and either send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair service (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for EEPROM repair, or replace it with a new unit.

  6. Perform post-repair EOL programming

If a new or repaired A050 ECU is installed, perform EOL programming again to configure the module to the specific tractor's options and register the valves/axles.
