Fendt 0A.1.D2 – MFA (Multifunction Armrest): Signal fault from the Red raise/lower/floating position button on the joystick

The system detects a 'Faulty button, Signal fault' indicating an electrical short, open circuit, or physically stuck/double-actuating button. As a safety measure, the system registers 'Valve position not functioning, Valve locked' and disables the hydraulic circuit until the next trouble-free cold start or fault clearance.

   Inspect the red raise/lower/floating position button on the joystick for dirt, debris, or sticky residue that might cause the button to stick in the depressed position.

   Turn the tractor off completely and perform a cold start to see if the module resets the locked valve.

   Test the A039 multifunction armrest using the Fendt 160-pin adapter box to verify if the signal fault is within the joystick itself or the wiring harness.

   Inspect the wiring set and connectors between the joystick/MFA (A039) and the basic control unit (A050) for chafing, pin corrosion, or loose connections.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Clean the Switch

   If the diagnostic check revealed a physically stuck button, use a plastic-safe electronic contact cleaner to clear out debris around the red button housing. Actuate the button several times to free it up.

   Access the Joystick Internals

   If cleaning does not resolve the signal fault, carefully remove the joystick handle casing on the multifunction armrest to access the internal button switches.

   Replace the Faulty Component

   Depending on the exact joystick revision, you may be able to replace just the faulty red button switch. If the switch is soldered directly to the joystick's internal circuit board and cannot be serviced individually, the entire joystick handle assembly must be replaced.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Reinstall the joystick casing and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes and Calibrate

   Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool (or use the tractor's onboard terminal) to clear the 0A.1.D2 fault code. If a new joystick or MFA module was installed, perform an EOL (End of Line) programming/calibration for the multifunction armrest so it correctly reports to the bus.
