0A.1.D3

Fendt 0A.1.D3 – MFA (Multifunction Armrest) module: MFA, multifunction armrest. Green raise/lower/floating position button on joystick (valve 8)

Issue description

The system has detected a signal fault or a faulty button. This is typically caused by an electrical short, an open circuit, or a physically stuck button (double actuation). The corresponding valve position stops functioning and the valve is locked for safety.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Farmer 400 series
  • Favorit 700 and 900 series
  • Fendt 300, 400, 700, 800, and 900 Vario (COM III) series
  • Fendt 700-900 SCR series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the green raise/lower/floating position button on the Vario joystick for physical damage, sticking, or debris.

  2. Perform a key reset/restart (cold start) to see if the fault clears or immediately returns.

  3. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the joystick and the MFA control board for continuity, shorts, or pinched wires.

  4. Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software (Variowin) to monitor the live state of the button and observe if the signal state changes.

Repair steps

  1. Clean the Switch

If the button is sticking, use electrical contact cleaner to clear out any debris around the green button housing.

  2. Replace the Button

If the button is physically broken or worn out, carefully open the joystick handle casing. Remove the defective green button and install a replacement button.

  3. Inspect the Switch Plate

If the plastic button is fine but the electronic switch beneath it is failing, inspect the internal joystick switch plate. If the microswitches or board are damaged, the switch plate must be replaced.

  4. Reassemble and Test

Reassemble the joystick casing and reconnect it to the armrest harness.

  5. Clear Codes

Turn on the ignition (cold start). Use the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS tool to clear the stored 0A.1.D3 fault code. Test the green button to ensure the hydraulic valve now actuates and the floating position engages without locking.
