Fendt 0A.1.FE – Basic Control Unit (ECU A050) or Multifunction Armrest (MFA A100): Fault with opening / Solenoid valve is faulty (Y083 - Lower link stabiliser II solenoid valve)
Issue description
The system detects a 'Fault with opening' or that the 'Solenoid valve is faulty' at the Y083 lower link stabiliser II solenoid valve. Consequently, the system registers 'No opening possible,' meaning the lower link stabilizer cannot be released or actuated properly.

Check the cause
Verify the Code: Retrieve the active error codes using the tractor's terminal to confirm 0A.1.FE is currently active.
Electrical Testing: Check the circuit diagram (specifically 'Sheet 9' for the Y083 circuit). Test the wiring harness leading to the Y083 solenoid for continuity, shorts to ground, or voltage drops.
Inspect the Connector: Check the electrical connector at the Y083 solenoid valve for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins.
Test the Solenoid: Measure the resistance of the Y083 solenoid coil to determine if it has failed internally (open circuit or shorted).
Mechanical Check: Ensure the valve spool is not physically jammed due to debris or highly viscous oil (especially in cold temperatures).
Repair steps
Locate the Valve
The Y082/Y083 lower link stabiliser solenoid valves are typically located on the right side of the tractor at the central valve block or rear valve block. You may need to detach the side cover panel or remove the right rear wheel for access.
Depressurize the System
Ensure the tractor is turned off, implements are lowered to the ground, and hydraulic pressure is relieved.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Y083 solenoid valve.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt and remove the faulty understeer/lower link stabiliser solenoid valve (Y083) from the valve block. Be prepared to catch residual hydraulic fluid.
Install the New Valve
Fit the replacement solenoid valve into the block, ensuring all O-rings/seals are properly seated and lubricated.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back into the new solenoid.
Reassemble and Test
Reinstall any removed panels or wheels. Start the tractor, actuate the lower link stabilizers to bleed any trapped air, and use the terminal to clear the 0A.1.FE fault code.
