0A.1.X0

Fendt 0A.1.X0 – Comfort Hydraulics / Electric Auxiliary Control Valves (Module 0A): Valve does not report to CAN bus

Issue description

The specific valve number (position X) is failing to communicate with the tractor's main CAN bus system. The affected valve automatically moves to the neutral position and locks out for safety, resulting in no hydraulic function on that specific remote.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III, S4)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III, SCR, S4)

Check the cause

  1. Identify the Valve: Use the last digit of the fault code to determine which valve is offline (e.g., 0A.1.40 = Valve 4 / Green).

  2. Check Voltage: Test the connector at the affected valve to ensure it is receiving full system voltage.

  3. Inspect the Harness: Check the wiring harness for short circuits to earth, short circuits to +UB (battery positive), or breaks in the wiring.

  4. Test the CAN Bus: Measure the resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins at the valve connector (with the battery disconnected). It should read approximately 60 ohms.

Repair steps

  1. Access the Valve Block

Locate the auxiliary control valve block at the rear of the tractor.

  2. Inspect and Clean

Disconnect the electrical plug from the affected valve. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and inspect for pushed-out pins or corrosion. Reconnect and cycle the key to see if the code clears.

  3. Replace the Valve/Actuator

If the wiring is sound, the electronic actuator head on the valve has failed internally and cannot communicate with the tractor. Replace the auxiliary control valve (or the electronic head, depending on parts availability).

  4. Clear the Fault Code

Fault codes must be cleared individually. On the Vario terminal, call up the fault code, then press the confirm/delete buttons (often a combination of the acknowledge button and arrow keys) until the memory is cleared.

  5. Calibration

After installing a new electro-hydraulic valve, calibrate it using the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS service tool to set the flow rates and neutral positions.
