0A.1.XD

Fendt 0A.1.XD – A050 Basic Control Unit ECU (EXT): Pilot control actuator is jammed

Issue description

The pilot control actuator is jammed on one of the auxiliary control valves (Y071, Y072, Y074, Y075, Y076, Y078, Y079, or Y080). When this condition is detected, the system automatically triggers a fail-safe: the affected valve moves to the neutral position and locks, and the pilot pressure is turned OFF.

Applies to these machines

  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III

  • FENDT 700 Vario
  • FENDT 800 Vario
  • FENDT 900 Vario

Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic oil temperature and viscosity; warm the tractor until the hydraulic oil reaches 40-50°C as cold oil can cause actuator jamming

  2. Clear the fault code using the terminal or SERDIA software after the tractor is warmed up and test the valve actuation again

  3. Monitor the hydraulic system for brief control pressure dips, which can cause the actuator to stall and trigger the jam code

  4. Verify fail-safe activation by confirming that the affected valve has physically moved to neutral and locked; failure to do so indicates a severe mechanical bind inside the spool block

Repair steps

  1. Isolate the Valve

Identify the exact valve causing the issue using the 'Y' number or the specific digit in the fault code (e.g., position 1 yellow, position 2 blue).

  2. Inspect the Actuator

Access the auxiliary control valve block (usually located on top of the rear axle housing; requires removing the right rear wheel/metal panels or accessing through the cab floor depending on the model).

  3. Replace the Component

If the pilot control actuator is mechanically jammed and cannot be freed, or if the internal solenoid/actuator has failed, the spool valve head or the entire auxiliary control valve section must be replaced.

  4. Calibrate the System

To compensate for mechanical and electrical tolerances, any replaced sensor or valve must be calibrated via the tractor's terminal. Calibrate the crossgate lever (hydraulic auxiliary valves) using Code 1001. Calibrate the linear modules 1–4 for the hydraulic auxiliary spool valves using Codes 1003–1006.
