0B.1.B1

Fendt 0B.1.B1 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Saving or read-out error in sequence data

Issue description

The tractor's computer is unable to properly save or retrieve the automated sequence steps programmed into the Variotronic TI (Teach-In) Headland Management System.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III and SCR models)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III and SCR models)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III and SCR models)

Check the cause

  1. Call up the fault code on the tractor's multiple display/terminal to confirm it is active.

  2. Attempt to manually trigger or record a new sequence in the Variotronic TI menu to see if the system rejects the input or fails to save.

  3. Look for accompanying A050 codes (such as 0B.1.B2 or 0B.1.B0) to determine if the issue is isolated to a corrupted sequence file or if the ECU's memory chip (EEPROM) is physically failing.

Repair steps

  1. Delete the Sequence

Access the Variotronic TI (Teach-In) menu on the tractor's terminal and completely delete the saved headland management sequence that is causing the read/write error.

  2. Reprogram the Sequence

Re-record (reprogram) the sequence data from scratch.

  3. Clear the Fault Code

Clear the stored fault code from the instrument panel memory (using the terminal buttons) or via the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  4. ECU EOL Programming

If the error immediately returns, or if the ECU is suffering from a deeper memory failure (EEPROM error), the A050 Basic Control Unit will require an EOL (End of Line) software re-flash using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool.

  5. ECU Replacement

If EOL programming fails and the unit can no longer retain memory, the A050 ECU must be removed, sent out for board-level repair, or replaced entirely.
