0B.1.B2

Fendt 0B.1.B2 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: A050 - ECU, basic control unit TEACH-IN

Issue description

EEPROM checksum error, initialising sequence data storage. The memory storage for the tractor's TEACH-IN (headland management system) sequence data has become corrupted or failed a checksum validation during initialization.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt Farmer 400 Vario
  • Fendt Favorit 700 Vario
  • Fendt Favorit 900 Vario
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III)

Check the cause

  1. Verify the fault code using the tractor's terminal or diagnostic tool. Note that fault codes stored in the A050 basic control unit can only be deleted using the appropriate FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  2. Check if the TEACH-IN functions are operable. The primary consequence of this fault is that the sequence data is corrupted and the TEACH-IN system will not function properly.

  3. Attempt a software reset before condemning the module, as EEPROM checksum errors can sometimes be resolved by wiping and rewriting the memory block.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic software

Connect the tractor to the FENDIAS diagnostic software.

  2. Access module

Access the A050 Basic Control Unit module.

  3. Delete sequence data

Delete the existing TEACH-IN sequence data from the memory.

  4. Perform EOL programming

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming to re-initialize the sequence data storage and reprogram the module.

  5. Test functionality

Test the TEACH-IN functionality. If the EEPROM checksum error immediately returns or the module refuses to accept EOL programming, the internal memory of the A050 ECU is physically defective.

  6. Repair or replace ECU

If defective, remove the A050 Basic Control Unit and either send it out for specialized electronic repair or replace it with a new/remanufactured unit.

  7. Program replacement unit

If a replacement unit is installed, you must perform EOL programming on the new module to configure it to the tractor.

Parts you might need
