0B.1.B4

Fendt 0B.1.B4 – A050 - Basic control unit ECU (32-bit processor): A050 - ECU, basic control unit TEACH-IN.

Issue description

Configuration wizard: error with writing or reading settings and parameters on tractor start-up/end or formula management. This indicates a memory or communication error within the basic control unit when it attempts to save or load sequence data (Teach-In / Headland Management System parameters) during startup, shutdown, or when managing formulas.

Check the cause

  1. Perform a complete cold restart of the tractor (key off, wait for systems to power down, key on) to check for a temporary initialization glitch

  2. Read and clear fault memory in the A050 ECU using FENDIAS diagnostic software to see if the code immediately returns upon the next startup/shutdown

  3. Verify CAN bus communication wiring and connections to the A050 module to ensure there are no voltage drops or interruptions causing data transfer failures

Repair steps

  1. Restart and Clear

Restart the tractor. If the error persists, consult the workshop and connect the AGCO 2x4 CANUSB diagnostic scanner (FENDIAS).

  2. EOL Programming

Perform EOL (End of Line) programming. This flashes/rewrites the correct data records and sequence parameters back into the A050 ECU's memory.

  3. Module Repair/Replacement

If EOL programming fails (indicating a physical failure of the EEPROM/memory chip inside the ECU), the A050 Basic Control Unit must be removed.

  4. Send for Repair or Replace

The A050 unit can often be sent to specialized agricultural electronics repair facilities (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for internal board repair, or it must be replaced entirely with a new OEM unit.

  5. Post-Installation

If a new or repaired A050 module is installed, you must perform a complete tractor calibration and EOL programming to pair the module with the tractor's systems.
