Fendt 0B.2.00 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: A050 - ECU, basic control unit TEACH-IN
Issue description
A warning message is triggered when the engine speed is less than 400 RPM during an attempt to start a sequence at TEACH-IN.

Check the cause
Verify Operating Conditions: Ensure the engine is actually running and idling at a normal speed (well above 400 RPM) before attempting to use the Teach-In function.
Check Live Data: If the engine is running normally but the code still triggers, use a diagnostic tool to view live data in the A050 ECU and verify it is receiving the correct 'Actual engine speed' message from the Engine Control Unit (EDC).
CAN Bus Inspection: If the A050 is reading < 400 RPM while the engine is running at normal speed, check for CAN bus communication faults between the EDC (Engine ECU) and the A050 Basic Control Unit.
Repair steps
Clear code and retest
Start the tractor, allow it to reach a stable idle (e.g., 800+ RPM), and attempt to initiate the Teach-In sequence again. If the sequence starts normally, the code was triggered by operator error (attempting to use the function with the engine off or cranking) and no repair is needed.
Address communication faults
If the A050 ECU is not seeing engine RPM despite the engine running normally, inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the engine speed sensor, the EDC, and the A050 module. Repair any corroded pins or broken wires on the CAN bus network.
Module reprogramming (EOL)
If the A050 module has suffered an internal logic error or parameter corruption, perform End-of-Line (EOL) programming via dealer software (FENDIAS) to restore proper function.
Replace or repair module
If the A050 ECU is internally defective and cannot be reprogrammed or fails to communicate entirely, remove the unit and send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility or replace it with a new OEM unit.
