0B.2.03

Fendt 0B.2.03 – A050 - Basic Control Unit ECU (EXT): A050 - ECU, basic control unit TEACH-IN: Warning message if speed is too low at the start of a sequence

Issue description

The operator is attempting to trigger a recorded Teach-In sequence, but the tractor's travel speed (or engine RPM) is below the minimum threshold required to execute the automated steps.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario series
  • Fendt 400 Vario series
  • Fendt 700 Vario series (COM III and SCR)
  • Fendt 800 Vario series
  • Fendt 900 Vario series (COM III and SCR)

Check the cause

  1. Verify operator procedure to ensure the tractor is moving at an adequate speed and engine RPM before initiating the Teach-In sequence

  2. Check the tractor's radar sensor and transmission speed sensors for accurate readings

  3. Look for accompanying CAN bus or sensor fault codes (e.g., radar disconnects or EDC engine speed timeouts) that might prevent the A050 ECU from seeing the correct speed

Repair steps

  1. Correct the Operating State

Instruct the operator to increase the tractor's speed to the required minimum before starting the Teach-In sequence. In most cases, this clears the warning and restores normal function.

  2. Clear the Code

Cycle the ignition (key OFF, wait, key ON) to see if the warning resets.

  3. Diagnose Sensor Wiring

If the tractor speed is correct but the A050 ECU doesn't recognize it, trace the wiring harness from the speed sensors to the A050 ECU to check for chafing, corrosion, or a dropped CAN signal.

  4. ECU EOL Programming / Replacement

If the A050 ECU is suffering from internal communication errors (often accompanied by codes like 0B.1.11 or 0B.1.21) and fails to process inputs, the module may need to be re-flashed with EOL (End of Line) programming via FENDIAS. If the hardware has failed, the A050 unit must be repaired or replaced.
