Fendt 0F.1.04 – A038 - ECU, central electrical system: E054 - Wide vehicle marker lights, right

Issue description

Function non-operable. The system has detected that the right-hand wide vehicle marker light is not functioning, which is typically caused by a blown bulb, a disconnected plug, or an open/short circuit in the wiring harness.

Check the cause

  1. Locate connector X896 (the separation point for the E054 light) on the right rear mudguard, front indicator bracket, or cab roof

  2. Test voltage at connector X896 or directly at the A038 central electrical system pins

  3. Verify voltage is 0 VDC when the marker light switch is OFF, and 12 VDC when the switch is ON

  4. If 12 VDC is present but the light is off, suspect a faulty bulb or light assembly

  5. If 12 VDC is not present, suspect a wiring issue (broken wire or bad ground) between the A038 ECU and the X896 connector

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

Ensure the tractor is turned off, the key is removed, and the parking brake is engaged.

  2. Inspect the Fixture

Go to the right wide vehicle marker light (E054) and remove the lens cover.

  3. Check the Bulb

Inspect the bulb for a broken filament. If it is blown, replace it with a new bulb.

  4. Check the Connector

Disconnect the X896 connector. Inspect the pins for moisture, corrosion, or pushed-out terminals. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect securely.

  5. Trace the Wiring

If the bulb and connector are fine but the voltage test failed, trace the wiring harness back to the central electrical system (A038). Look for pinch points, chafing against the chassis, or rodent damage. Repair any damaged wires.

  6. Clear the Code

Once the repair is made and the light illuminates, clear the stored 0F.1.04 fault code using the tractor's onboard terminal or the FENDIAS diagnostic software.
