Fendt 0F.1.07 – Central Electrical System ECU (A038): E003 - H4 additional headlight, right; E004 - H4 additional headlight, left

The central electrical system has detected that the H4 additional (auxiliary) headlights are non-operable (neither the main beam nor the dipped beam is functioning). To maintain visibility and comply with road traffic licensing regulations, the tractor's system will automatically switch over to the standard front headlights.

   Check the H4 bulbs in both the right (E003) and left (E004) additional headlights for blown filaments.

   Test the voltage at the headlight connectors using a multimeter (should be 14 VDC when activated, 0 VDC when off).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors (X352 for the right, X353 for the left) for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pins.

   Verify that the auxiliary lighting pushbutton (S007) and the main headlight pushbutton (X080) are functioning and sending correct signals to the ECU.

   Preparation

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the central electrical system.

   Access the Headlights

   Locate the E003 (right) and E004 (left) additional H4 headlights on the front of the tractor cab/grille. Remove the protective housing covers or access panels.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Carefully unplug the electrical connectors (X352 and X353) from the back of the H4 bulbs.

   Remove and Replace Bulbs

   Unclip the retaining springs holding the H4 bulbs in place. Pull the bulbs out. If the filaments are broken or the glass is blackened, install new H4 bulbs. (Note: Do not touch the glass of the new halogen bulbs with bare fingers, as oil from your skin can cause premature failure).

   Clean Contacts

   If the bulbs are intact, use electrical contact cleaner to clean the terminals on both the bulb and the wiring harness connectors to resolve any high-resistance connections.

   Reassembly

   Secure the bulbs with the retaining clips, plug the electrical connectors back in, and reinstall the housing covers.

   Testing

   Reconnect the battery, turn on the tractor, and activate the auxiliary headlights. Verify that both the main and dipped beams illuminate and that fault code 0F.1.07 moves to an inactive state or clears from the dashboard display.
