0F.1.12

Fendt 0F.1.12 – Central Electrical System ECU (A038 / A111): Faulty nozzle heater

Issue description

Indicates a faulty nozzle heater. This is often a 'phantom' code caused by the software looking for a circuit that was planned for production but omitted on certain chassis series (planned although not yet fitted in X900).

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III) series
  • Fendt 700-900 SCR series (2011.09 and newer)
  • X900 chassis

Check the cause

  1. Physically inspect the machine to verify if a nozzle heater is actually installed, as it may be a missing component rather than a broken one.

  2. Call up the fault code on the multiple display to confirm it is active.

  3. If the tractor has a nozzle heater installed, inspect the wiring harness between the nozzle heater and the Central Electrical System ECU (A038/A111) for open circuits, corrosion, or shorts.

Repair steps

  1. Retrieve and Clear the Code

Call up the fault code on the multiple display and make a note of it.

  2. Terminal Deletion

To delete fault codes from the instrument panel memory, press buttons (A), (B), and (C) (both arrow keys) simultaneously on the display.

  3. FENDIAS Deletion

If the code is stored deeper in the basic control unit (A050) or engine control ECU (A099), it cannot be deleted via the dashboard. You must connect a laptop with FENDIAS diagnostic software to clear it.

  4. Address the Hardware (If Equipped)

If the tractor is equipped with a nozzle heater and the code returns after clearing, replace the faulty nozzle heater element.

  5. ECU Replacement (Worst Case)

If the wiring is intact, the heater is functional (or intentionally missing), and the A038 Central Electrical System ECU is internally shorted or corrupted, the ECU must be replaced. Note: No repair is possible for the A038 central electrics board.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Nozzle Heater

Only required if physically equipped on the tractor; otherwise, the fault is a software/configuration anomaly.

  • Central Electrical System ECU (A038 / A111)

This is a non-repairable solid-state power board. If internal failure occurs, it must be replaced with a new OEM unit.
