Fendt 0F.1.18 – A038 - ECU, Central Electrical System: E067 - Brake and tail light right
Issue description
The system has detected that the right brake and tail light function is non-operable. The circuit is not loadable (typically indicating an open circuit, blown bulb, or severed wiring). As a consequence, the right tail lamp defaults/switches for day driving mode, or the system disables the circuit to prevent electrical damage.
Applies to these machines
11 machines- 922 Vario COM III
- 924 Vario COM III
- 927 Vario COM III
- 930 Vario COM III
- 933 Vario COM III
- 936 Vario COM III

- Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
- Fendt 700 Vario (COM III / SCR)
- Fendt 800 Vario (COM III / SCR)
- Fendt 900 Vario (COM III / SCR) (e.g., 922, 924, 927, 930, 933, 936, 939)
Check the cause
Check the right tail light and brake light bulbs for blown filaments (most common cause)
Test voltage at the A038 ECU / Harness for the brake light circuit (Terminal 54 / Pin A5 to X1404): should read 0 VDC with brake off, 12 VDC with brake applied
Test voltage at the A038 ECU / Harness for the tail light circuit (Terminal 58 / Pin B13 to X1405): should read 0 VDC with parking light off, 12 VDC with parking light on
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the right rear fender for pinches, chafing, or corrosion at the connector
Ensure the ground connection to the light assembly is clean and secure
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and engage the parking brake.
Access the Assembly
Locate the right rear tail light assembly on the fender. Remove the retaining screws holding the outer lens in place.
Replace Bulbs / Clean Contacts
If a bulb is blown, replace it with the correct 12V specification (typically a 21W for brake and 10W/5W for tail). Inspect the bulb socket for rust or corrosion. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
Test the Circuit
Before reassembling, turn the key to the ON position. Turn on the parking lights and press the brake pedal to verify the new bulbs illuminate.
Replace the Assembly (If necessary)
If the socket is melted, the circuit board is heavily corroded, or the housing is cracked, disconnect the main wiring pigtail at the back of the housing. Unbolt the assembly from the fender bracket, install the new OEM replacement, and plug in the harness.
Clear Codes
The fault code should move to an inactive state once the circuit is restored. Clear the stored fault code from the A038 ECU memory using the tractor's terminal or the FENDIAS/SERDIA diagnostic tool.

Hella LED/Halogen assemblies
2SB 009 001-401 / 2SB 008 805-201Used on newer SCR/S4 models. Always verify whether your specific machine uses standard incandescent bulbs or the upgraded LED sealed units, as they are not directly cross-compatible without harness adapters.
