0F.1.21

Fendt 0F.1.21 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Checksum error over address range: 0-128d

Issue description

Data corruption or internal memory (EEPROM) failure where the stored parameters in the control unit no longer match their expected mathematical checksum.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • Fendt 300 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 400 Vario (COM III)
  • Fendt 700 Vario (COM III / SCR)
  • Fendt 800 Vario (COM III / SCR)
  • Fendt 900 Vario (COM III / SCR)

Check the cause

  1. Retrieve all stored fault codes using the tractor's multiple display or FENDIAS software to look for related A050 memory/communication codes (e.g., 0F.1.22 or 0F.1.23).

  2. Verify the main supply voltage, sensor supply voltage, and processor supply voltage to the A050 ECU. Check the wiring harness at the separation point (e.g., X169) for proper +UB (power) and Earth (ground) to rule out voltage spikes or drops.

  3. Attempt to clear the code using the FENDIAS diagnostic software to see if it is a hard fault or a transient memory glitch.

Repair steps

  1. Perform EOL Programming

Perform End of Line (EOL) programming using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to rewrite the operating parameters to the ECU and recalculate the checksums.

  2. Test the Tractor

After EOL programming, cycle the key and test the tractor to see if the 0F.1.21 code returns.

  3. Repair or Replace the ECU

If EOL programming fails, or if the values stored in the A050 basic control unit remain illogical/corrupted, the A050 ECU has suffered an internal hardware failure (EEPROM error).

  4. Module Replacement

Remove the defective A050 ECU. You can either send it to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) or replace it with a new OEM unit.

  5. Final Calibration

If a new or repaired A050 ECU is installed, you must perform EOL programming again so the module matches the specific tractor's configuration.
