Fendt 0F.1.24 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Communication problem: no information from enhanced controls (brake)
Issue description
The basic control unit is failing to receive data or signals from the enhanced brake control systems over the tractor's communication bus.
Applies to these machines
10 machines- 922 Vario COM III
- 924 Vario COM III
- 927 Vario COM III
- 930 Vario COM III
- 933 Vario COM III
- 936 Vario COM III
- Fendt Farmer 400 series
- Fendt Favorit 700 series
- Fendt Favorit 900 series
- Fendt 900 Vario series (including COM III and S4 generations)
Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harnesses and CAN bus lines running between the enhanced brake controls and the A050 Basic Control Unit for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or rodent damage.
Check the pin connectors at both the brake control module and the A050 ECU (such as separation point X169) for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent pins.
Use the FENDIAS diagnostic software or a compatible tool (like TEXA) to perform a system-wide bus scan to check for other active bus faults.
Check for ECU internal errors by verifying if other A050-related codes (like 01.1.04 or 01.1.06) are present, which would point to a failing basic control unit rather than a wiring issue.
Repair steps
Resolve Wiring Issues
If continuity tests reveal a break or short in the communication lines between the brake controls and the A050 ECU, repair or replace the affected wiring harness section.
Test/Repair the A050 ECU
If the wiring and brake control module are intact, the A050 Basic Control Unit itself may have an internal hardware or communication failure. Remove and send to specialized agricultural electronics repair shops for bench-testing and component-level repair.
Replace the ECU
If the A050 unit is beyond repair, install a replacement unit.
EOL Programming
Whether the A050 ECU is repaired, replaced, or simply loses its parameterization, you must perform EOL (End of Line) programming using the FENDIAS dealer software to restore functionality and pair the module with the tractor's systems.
Clear Codes and Test
Clear the stored fault codes and test-drive the tractor, ensuring the brake enhanced controls are communicating and functioning properly.
