Fendt 0F.1.26 – A050 - ECU, basic control unit: Communication problem: no information from EHL task (steering angle)
Issue description
The tractor's basic control unit is failing to receive the steering angle data signal from the EHL (Electro-Hydraulic Steering / Hitch) system. This is typically caused by a faulty steering angle sensor, a break in the communication wiring/CAN bus, or an internal failure within the control unit itself.

Check the cause
Verify the Code: Confirm that fault code 0F.1.26 is actively displayed on the tractor's multiple display terminal.
Wiring & Harness Inspection: Check the electronic connections and wiring harnesses between the steering angle sensor and the A050 basic control unit for cuts, corrosion, or loose pins.
Sensor Testing: Test the steering angle sensor to ensure it is actively reading and transmitting the physical steering angle position.
ECU Communication Check: Verify that the A050 ECU is communicating properly on the bus network and that no other major communication fault codes are present.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Always disconnect the battery before servicing Fendt electrical systems or removing ECUs.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or poor connections between the steering angle sensor and the A050 ECU, repair or replace the affected harness section.
Replace Sensor
If the steering angle sensor is found to be dead or outputting erratic signals, replace the sensor and perform any required EOL (End of Line) steering calibrations via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool.
Address the A050 ECU
If the sensor and wiring are intact, the A050 basic control unit has likely suffered an internal hardware or communication failure. Remove the A050 ECU.
Repair or Replace ECU
Send the A050 unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repair facility (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for bench-testing and repair, or replace it with a new OEM unit.
Reassembly and Clearing Codes
Reinstall the repaired/new A050 ECU, reconnect the battery, clear the stored fault codes from the multiple display, and perform a test drive to ensure the steering angle data is successfully communicating.
