0F.1.27

Fendt 0F.1.27 – A038 - ECU, central electrical system: Checksum error over address range for central electrical system parameters.

Issue description

This fault indicates that the ECU has detected a memory or data corruption issue within its parameter storage (specifically the EEPROM). The checksum of the stored data does not match the expected value, meaning the configuration data the module relies on to operate the central electrical system is corrupted or unreadable.

Applies to these machines

  • 922 Vario COM III
  • 924 Vario COM III
  • 927 Vario COM III
  • 930 Vario COM III
  • 933 Vario COM III
  • 936 Vario COM III
  • 300 Vario Series (COM III / SCR)
  • 400 Vario Series (COM III)
  • 500 Vario Series (SCR)
  • 700 Vario Series (COM III / SCR)
  • 800 Vario Series (COM III / S4)
  • 900 Vario Series (COM III / S4 - e.g., 919, 922, 924, 927, 930, 933, 936, 939)

Check the cause

  1. Check the main supply voltage, sensor supply voltage, and processor supply voltage to the A038 ECU using a breakout/adapter box to rule out voltage spikes or drops.

  2. Verify the K-bus (control bus) connections to the A038 ECU and test the total resistance of the bus (typically 60 Ohms, or 40 Ohms on older 900 series tractors up to chassis 9XX/2X/1701).

  3. Look for accompanying fault code 0F.1.28 (Error on reading from EEPROM during initialisation). If present, it strongly indicates a hard internal failure of the ECU's memory chip.

Repair steps

  1. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the FENDIAS (Fendt Diagnostic System) tool to the tractor's diagnostic port.

  2. Read and clear fault codes

Read and clear the fault codes to determine if 0F.1.27 is an active fault or a stored/historic fault caused by a previous low-voltage event.

  3. Attempt EOL programming

If the code is active, attempt EOL (End of Line) programming via FENDIAS. This process will attempt to re-flash and overwrite the corrupted central electrical system parameters with the correct factory data.

  4. Cycle ignition

Cycle the ignition. If the EOL programming is successful and the code does not return, the issue was a software/data glitch.

  5. Diagnose hardware failure

If FENDIAS cannot communicate with the module, if the EOL programming fails, or if the 0F.1.27 code returns immediately after a reboot, the A038 ECU has suffered an internal hardware failure (failed EEPROM).

  6. Replace ECU

Disconnect the battery and replace the A038 Central Electrical System ECU.

  7. Program new ECU

Reconnect the battery, connect FENDIAS, and perform EOL programming on the new A038 ECU to flash it with the tractor's specific chassis parameters.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • A038 - Central Electrical System ECU (Central Electrics Module)

You must order this part directly through an AGCO dealer using the tractor's specific VIN/Chassis number to ensure the correct hardware revision is supplied. A blank or new ECU will require dealer-level EOL programming via FENDIAS to function.
