Fendt 0F.1.2C – A038 ECU: Left Reverse Operation Support Valve Inoperable
Issue description
This fault indicates a failure or open/short circuit in the circuit for the Y092 solenoid valve. The Fendt reverse drive control system (Rüfa) uses pneumatic assistance to help turn the operator platform. The Y092 valve specifically provides pneumatic assistance when rotating the platform to the left. When this valve is inoperable, the system logs code 0F.1.2C, and the pneumatic assist for leftward rotation will not function.

Check the cause
Perform an actuator test using the FENDIAS service diagnostics program or the tractor's terminal to listen/feel for the Y092 valve clicking.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A038 Central Electrical System ECU and the Y092 solenoid valve for chafed wires, corrosion, or a disconnected plug.
Unplug the Y092 solenoid valve and measure its internal resistance with a multimeter to check for an open coil or internal short.
Verify that the A038 ECU is sending the correct voltage to the Y092 valve when left rotation is commanded, using a 160-pin adapter box or back-probing.
Ensure the S085 and S045 reverse operation switches are correctly transmitting the platform's position to the A038 ECU.
Repair steps
Locate the valve
Locate the Y092 (left) reverse drive control solenoid valve, typically located on the right side of the transmission.
Access the component
Detach the right rear wheel and the inner mudguard panel to gain clear access to the transmission valve block (depending on the specific Vario model).
Depressurize system
Ensure the tractor is turned off, the battery is disconnected, and any residual pneumatic pressure in the Rüfa assist system is safely bled off.
Remove faulty valve
Disconnect the electrical connector from the Y092 solenoid valve. Remove the retaining hardware/screws securing the valve to the block and pull the valve out.
Install new valve
Lubricate the O-rings on the new Y092 valve. Seat it into the valve block and torque the retaining hardware to OEM specifications.
Reassemble components
Reconnect the electrical harness. Reinstall the mudguard panel and the right rear wheel, torquing lug nuts to spec.
Clear codes and test
Reconnect the battery, clear the 0F.1.2C fault code using the Varioterminal or FENDIAS, and physically test the reverse drive control by rotating the seat to the left to confirm pneumatic assistance is working.
Parts you might need
(2)Solenoid valve, reverse operation (Rüfa), rotate to left (Y092)
Specific OEM part numbers vary heavily depending on chassis serial number and model year. Cross-reference VIN/Chassis number.
A038 Central electrical system ECU
Only replace if diagnostic testing proves the ECU is failing to output the signal and the wiring is intact.
